It was another rainy day. I know it’s an old joke, but I’m considering building an ark. We have a substantial amount of flooding in the area, and it looks like the worse is yet to come. There is a huge amount of snow in the high country, plus the rain falling on top of it (or snow) isn’t helping matters. The only thing that’s saved us is the mildĀ temperatures. We haven’t had the normal 80 degree days we experience in mid-May that would’ve sped up the melting. However, it looks like we’re going to be close to that this week, which means Gibson Reservoir is undoubtedly going to spill over into the Sun River. The Missouri is already roaring (as demonstrated by the water flowing over Black Eagle Falls), and there’s no where for the water to go. Lewistown is in big trouble, and there are going to be a lot more areas battling rising water.
While John was napping, Sam and I ran a few errands. We went down to Ulm to check on Kelo. He had such huge mud balls in his mane I had to cut them out. His mane looks like my bangs used to when Mom got a hold of them right before school pictures. Then we went to Bundi’s Gardens to pick up more onions (despite buying a lot of seed, I still didn’t plant enough), popcorn plantsĀ and an artichoke plant. Sam’s been after me to plant popcorn so we picked up three 4 packs for Sam to plant in the end garden by the rhubarb, and near where Grandpa Vin is going to build the sandbox. It should be a fun area this summer.

I interviewd a couple who live between Belgrade and Manahattan who are growing a whole lot of popcorn this year. They even bought a greenhouse for it.
