It was 16 inches deep so I felt pretty good about it. I'm paranoid about the holes - especially the 10 inch ones from the power augers - because I could see the boys falling in. Sam stepped in a small one last year and went up to his mid-calf. By the time I got him back to the truck he was shivering. I'm soooo ready for spring! Yes, the ice always concerns me. I was very surprised it was mature enough to pop. I just ordered a popcorn called "Tom Thumb." We'll get an early start because I'll seed it inside first. Setting out the plants did very well.
